The Eastbourne Under Ground Theatre is delighted to welcome back the enormously popular Lycydas Trio for its chamber concert on the afternoon of Sunday 24th March. Caroline Szram will be playing the cello, with husband Aleks Szram on piano. However, violinist Toby Tramaseur is unavailable and will be replaced by a soloist with an international reputation.
He’s Jon Visjani, who has performed with leading orchestras both in the UK and abroad, and has appeared on stage and on national TV and radio with many popular artists, such as Susan Boyle and Russell Watson. He studied as a graduate and as a postgraduate at the Royal Northem College of Music.
The Lycydas Trio, formed in 1998, have become regulars in the annual chamber music series at the UGT, growing in musical stature with every performance – not least in the 2008-9 season, when they played all Beethoven’s piano trios in three recitals spread over two months.
Their performance in March will include Beethoven’s Trio in D major (“Ghost”) Op. 70 no.2, Mendelssohn’s Trio in D Minor Op. 49, and Dvořák’s Trio in F Minor Op. 65.
2.45pm on Sunday 24th March 2013 at Eastbourne Under Ground Theatre. Tea and coffee bar from 2.15 pm. Tickets: £9 (members £8; students £5).
