TONIGHT : ZACHARY DOGWOOD, with support from the Koan Brothers

Come join us at the UGT tonight for the Alternative Post-Punk new wave band – Zachary Dogwood.

Zachary Dogwood was born around Easter 2013, as a vehicle for staging a bunch of songs that made up the album ‘Fiveways to Silverhill’. The band have streamed early mixes of some of the songs from ‘Fiveways to Silverhill’ including ‘Hand of God’. In 2015, Zachary Dogwood released an EP ‘Juice’. Zachary Dogwood includes members of the 80s London-based band Hey Hey Roxy. Zachary Dogwood are appearing at festivals and events this summer.

They’re ably supported by rising local legends The Koan Brothers.

That’s the growling guitars & mandolin driven country rock and soul, from the three brothers Marky, Will & Davy .  Some nights you’ll hear them playing a kicking electric set, others it’s acoustic guitars, mandolin and harmonica. They play as a four, three or two piece outfit and change their live set for every show.

The Koans have shared the stage with Israel Nash, Tandy, Eric Taylor, Jason Ringenberg (Jason & the Scorchers)  Good Luck Mountain and The Water Tower Bucket Boys, all from the USA. We have also played the Rory Gallagher festival in Ireland.

With talent like these two groups, that’s a fiver well spent – and the UGT has a well-stocked and inexpensive bar too.

As with all of this week’s Eastbourne Music Live events at the UGT, tonight’s show will be recorded on HD video for the performers to be able to use to promote their great talents – so be sure to look out for highlights shortly afterwards.
