FREE SATURDAY MORNING MUSIC : CON BRIO
SATURDAY 2ND DECEMBER 2017. 10am – noon. Venue opens at 9.30am.
Con Brio – with their unique blend of jazz, soul and blues, with a hint of folk and a dash of rock’n’roll. As always on Saturday morning’s music weekly event, entry is completely free.
Con Brio’s appearance at the UGT last year was typically exciting. The performance included “Fever”, “La Mer”, and “Tequila”, as well as Chuck Berry’s “Roll Over Beethoven” and George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” – not to mention Louis Jordan’s “Is You Is or Is You Ain’t My Baby?”, a song which last year celebrated its seventieth birthday. And it was all done with the same instrument-swapping fluidity that has made them such a big draw in all their shows at the UGT.
They will be adding a Christmas feel to their unique blend of jazz, soul, blues and rock’n’roll.
Alongside their usual mix of standards and originals, Con Brio will play some well-known Christmas numbers with a jazz twist. Look out for White Christmas’ as a samba, a suite of jazz carols, and classics such as I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm’ and Run Run Rudolph’.
Guaranteed to put you in the festive mood!
As usual, the venue is open from 10am to 4pm for viewing of the current Art exhibition, and the coffee bar (with free wifi from 11.15am – 4pm) is open throughout for purchase of fairtrade refreshments in a friendly and comfortable environment.
As the venue is below ground with regret the venue has no wheelchair access – there is no facility for a lift or an escalator.
A Hearing loop is available.
